It's officially June, which means I am kicking off 30 days of coloring tutorials featuring alcohol markers, colored pencils, charcoals, acrylics, and more! Some tutorials will be done in parts, and some will be just one big coloring tutorial!
Before diving in, hey there! My name is Sara, and I am the artist behind Nest And Ponder. I have been coloring since my 20s in a variety of different mediums, despite art breaks here and there. You can read more about me here.
Sand Beach Coloring Tutorial
This sand beach coloring tutorial will be done in 3 parts, starting with the upper half, but here is the final version we are working towards.

Tools Used

Markers used are Ohuhu and have a mix of new and old codes intertwined. I am also using some Pandafly charcoal pencils and Sakura white gel pen, and glitter pens. The white acrylic is from the Artistro pack.
You can watch the video below for the step-by-step process, and I will write out more details below it. Don't worry, the video is under a minute!
Sand Beach Coloring Tutorial Step By Step
Step 1: Use y62 in horizontal streaks to about 55-60% of the terrain. A chisel tip performs wonderfully here if you have one. Absolutely okay if you do not, as you can see in the video, I was using a brush tip.
Step 2: Define some shadows with the same marker along the bottom edge and then leading up in patterns of the sand. Add random dots for texture.
Step 3: Use e46 to define some more shadows. For a few spots as well.
Step 4: Blend and muddy some sections with y62 over the top. I don't recommend all sections, so there is variety in texture.

Step 5: Use a brown charcoal pencil in horizontal streaks over the top and blend it out onto the sand.
Step 6: Add a glitter yellow or gold gel pen to the sand. This will help give it a nice additional effect when showing the page off.
Step 7: Add some more stipples around for texture using Y62 and E46.
And that's it! Make sure to tune back in tomorrow for day 2, where I cover the water texture!
