Ocean Foam Coloring Tutorial - Day 3 of 30 Coloring Techniques

Ocean Foam Coloring Tutorial - Day 3 of 30 Coloring Techniques

Today is the last day of the beach vibes series with an ocean foam coloring tutorial. But don't worry, this is only day 3 of 30 days of coloring techniques for June!

If you are curious, I have been doing various forms of art for about 20 years. Coloring has mostly been a digital form, and I will touch more on this tomorrow. I have taken breaks and focused on other art mediums during those breaks. For instance, I taught myself to watercolor, and I did a summer of acrylics. Which is why you see me mix mediums when I color.

I will keep sneaking in snippets about me as we go.

The tutorial today focused on Ohuhu Y62, E46, and V22. A Sakura Yellow Glitter Gel Pen, an Artistro acrylic pen, and a Sakura White Gelly Roll.

Ocean Beach Coloring Tutorial Step-By-Step

Step 1: Use Y62 to make some blobs in the white space. Make sure to stipple along the beach line and the foam.
Step 2: Use E46 to stipple along some of the Y62 blobs, and also along the beach line.
Step 3: Add some dots with glitter gel pen into a few of the sand patches.
Step 4: Use V22 to dot around the foam and then along the base of the sand to give a wet sand look.
Step 5: Then grab white acrylic and dot over the foam and the beach line.
Step 6: Put some horizontal streaks over the wet sand with the white acrylic and smudge them. Then add a few horizontal streaks to not smudge. Feel free to add any more white acrylic dots after this to your desired preference.
Step 7: This step is optional; you can add some V22 under the G324 from yesterday in the ocean water to give more of a vibe, and then dot any remaining parts as you desire in the beach foam.

And that is it! Tomorrow will be a tutorial on a creek scene, and you can find all the future coloring tutorials here.
